This Privacy Policy describes how the "WiFi Scanner" mobile application ("the App") handles information when you use it.
Information We Collect
The App requests the following permissions on Android in order to provide its core functionality:
- *Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
- *Nearby Wi-Fi Devices (NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES) — Android 13 (API 33) and above
- *Wi-Fi state (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE)
These permissions are required by the Android operating system to enumerate nearby Wi-Fi access points. Location permission is requested only because Android requires it for Wi-Fi scanning, not because the App tracks your location.
How We Use the Information
- The App scans for nearby Wi-Fi access points and displays the count and SSIDs *only on your device's screen, in real time.
- The App does *not record, log, store, transmit, or share any scan results, location data, SSIDs, BSSIDs, signal strengths, or any other personal information.
- The App does *not use any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or third-party SDKs that collect personal data.
- The App does *not require user accounts and does *not access any other on-device data (contacts, photos, files, etc.).
Data Sharing
We do not collect personal data, therefore we do not share any personal data with third parties.
Data Retention
No scan results or personal data are retained. All information shown on screen is discarded as soon as you close the App or stop scanning.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
